Even in the boonies...
My life is pretty much simple but let me tell you technology can throw a monkey wrench in where it's not appreciated. First off my husband's Blackberry dies and we have to have a replacement overnighted and the stupid thing still isn't programmed right, then my external hard drive crashed and burned and I have spent the last few days using a file recovery utility called DiskDigger going through memory cards and my laptops hard drive trying to recover what photos I can and I'm still not through with the laptop yet, over 23,000 files and each one has to be looked at, it's amazing what lingers even after your temporary files has been deleted. I'm hoping that I can get back on the dirt road of sharing all my rural experiences and I have lots of topics to talk about too.

Front Porch Talk
Most gossip happens on the front porch and not all gossip is bad either, some of it can be informational, some can be silly and of course some can be downright mean. Today I learned that Anthony, my neighbor across the road, will be released from jail in October and it seems that Anthony is a meth head, so I was told to prepare myself for the influx of traffic that will most likely occur with his buying and selling of illegal substances. I know what you're thinking, just call the law, well that would be the ideal thing to do but Anthony's daddy likes to sit and monitor the police scanner while drinking himself silly and since we all reside on a dead end road anytime there's a call to our little slice of heaven, daddy just makes a call telling Anthony to get the hell outta dodge. It's been a rather peaceful year and I intend to keep it that way not sure exactly how I'm going to accomplish that but I reckon I will do some studying in the two and a half months I have left. Meth is a sad reality here in the south, so many people hooked on it, you can see the tweekers at the grocery store looking like skeletons getting their Mountain Dew fix and if that isn't enough to give them away, most of them have broken or no teeth at all, such a sad state of being and I have no tolerance or sympathies for drug users...none...

Tennessee Sunset
As the day draws to a close, I park myself in my rocker on the porch to reflect on the days events. It's August and these moments are going to get fewer and fewer until it's time to put the rockers away for the winter. The warmth of the sun feels refreshing and the sky is amazingly cloud free, such a shade of blue but will soon give way to pinks and purples. The air has that "smell" to it, late bbq's, cut grass and the fast approaching football season. Yes you can smell football, just ask any member of the Big Orange Army. School starts back this week and Friday night games will compete with the dirt track for attendance but for now I will enjoy my quiet sunsets knowing for a brief moment that everything's perfect.

It's all good
Hey there, I thought I would try my hand at this blog stuff and write about living in a small town in East Tennessee, nothing much exciting happens but it's home and I love it here, so grab a glass of iced tea and a place on the porch and let's see if we can make this work.
